[Resolved] Unplanned E-mail & Server Downtime 5/4/16 – wilma.widomaker.com
At approximately 7:00PM ET, on May 4th 2016, one of Widomaker’s servers (wilma.widomaker.com) stopped responding. A ticket has been opened with the server provider and they are investigating. We hope they will resolve the issue quickly and restore service.
Until the issue is resolved, customers with e-mail addresses ending in “widomaker.com” or “tni.net” will not be able to send or receive e-mail. Additionally, Widomaker’s web page (http://www.widomaker.com/) and members’ page (http://home.widomaker.com/) will be unavailable. Updates will be posted here, when available.
Update 8:00PM: The server provider has acknowledged the problem and are working to restore service. They will be moving our server to new hardware later tonight, to prevent further issues.
Update 12:00AM 5/5/2016: The server provider has confirmed that they had another hardware problem with this hypervisor. Some e-mails may have been corrupted or lost. Due to the pending hardware move, by the server provider, and the corruption from the unexpected loss of power to the server, we estimate that e-mail service (for customers with an e-mail address that ends in widomaker.com or tni.net) may not be restored until after noon on Thursday (5/5/2016).
Update 3:00PM 5/5/2016: We estimate that e-mail service will be restored by 4:00PM ET this afternoon (5/5/2016). Thank you for your patience while new hardware was brought into service and repairs were made. We will be evaluating other server and provider options, in the near future, as a result of this experience with our current server and hosting provider.
