[Resolved] Phone Company Outage Affecting DSL Customers beginning on 3/23
Update, Tuesday, March 25, 6:30 PM: It seems the Verizon outage is not fully cleared, after all. Verizon has opened a new investigation, as some customers continue to report the same issue as before. Verizon has confirmed that there is a system group wide outage continuing to affect some customers. The phone company is currently working to resolve the matter and will update us as soon as they repair the issue. At this time there is no estimated time of repair from the telephone company. Once repaired, affected customers may need to power cycle their modem and router. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
Update, Wednesday, March 26, 5:00 PM: Most all customers affected by the recent Verizon outage have reconnected, with very few exceptions. The phone company has reported that repairs in their central office are complete and the outage has cleared. If you have not already reconnected, please power off your modem and router equipment for 10 seconds then power them back on. If you are still not able to connect, please let us know right away.
Beginning around 9:30 AM on, Sunday, March 23, 2014, there appears to be a telephone company outage that is affecting some DSL Internet connections in the area. We have reported the problem to the telephone company and are waiting for an update at this time.
Update, Sunday, March 23, 6:00 PM: Verizon has confirmed that there is a known outage. They do not have an ETR (Estimated Time of Recovery/Repair) at this time.
Update, Sunday, March 23, 8:50 PM: Most affected customers have been able to reconnect as of around 8:50PM. If you were affected, and still haven’t been able to reconnect, please power off all of your equipment, including your modem and router, and then power them back on. We are waiting for another update from the telephone company to inform us if the problem has been completely repaired.
Update, Monday, March 24: Verizon has confirmed that the outage has cleared as of Sunday evening. If you are still having trouble, please power cycle your equipment, then call our office to report the problem, if the trouble continues.
