Fix “Account Temporarily Unavailable” Email Error on iPhone & iPad

< Back

Issue Overview

If you are receiving the error message “The mail server mail.widomaker.com is not responding. Server message ‘account is temporarily unavailable'” on your Apple iPhone or iPad, but your email still works on a desktop computer, your device’s connection to the server has become stuck.

Because your email works on other devices, your emails are safe on the server. To resolve the issue on your mobile device, you need to remove the email account from the device and add it back.

Be sure you know what your current and correct email password is, before proceeding. You can verify that you know the correct password by trying to log into Widomaker Webmail. If you can log into Webmail, then the password you used is correct.

Part 1: Remove the Email Account

This process only removes the local connection from your device; it will not delete your emails from the Widomaker server.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Apps, then tap Mail.
(Note: If you are using an older version of iOS prior to iOS 18, simply scroll down and tap directly on Mail).
  3. Tap on Mail Accounts (or just Accounts on older versions).
  4. Tap on your Widomaker email account in the list.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap the red Delete Account button.
  6. Tap to confirm that you want to delete the account from your device.

Part 2: Add the Email Account Back

  1. Open the Settings app again.
  2. Tap on Apps, then tap Mail (or tap directly on Mail for older versions).
  3. Tap on Mail Accounts (or Accounts).
  4. Tap on Add Account.
  5. Tap on Other at the bottom of the list.
  6. Tap on Add Mail Account.
  7. Fill in your basic information:
    • Name: Your first and last name
    • Email: Your full Widomaker email address (must be all lowercase)
    • Password: Your email password
    • Description: Widomaker (or your preferred label)
  8. Tap Next in the top right corner.
  9. At the top of the next screen, make sure IMAP is selected (it should be highlighted in blue).

Part 3: Enter the Server Settings

On the same screen, enter the specific server settings for Widomaker exactly as shown below:

Incoming Mail Server

  • Host Name: mail.widomaker.com
  • User Name: Your full email address (all lowercase)
  • Password: Your email password

Outgoing Mail Server

  • Host Name: smtp.widomaker.com
  • User Name: Your full email address (all lowercase)
  • Password: Your email password

After typing this information, tap Next in the top right corner. Your device will display “Verifying.” Once it finishes verifying, tap Save.

Advanced Settings (If Prompted)

Your iPhone and iPad should automatically detect the required port and security settings. If the device asks you to confirm the Ports or SSL settings, verify they match the following:

  • Incoming Port: 993 (Ensure “Use SSL” is enabled)
  • Outgoing Port: 465 (Ensure “Use SSL” is enabled)
