[Completed!] Current Status of the E-mail Migration of 2018

(Updates will be added to the bottom of this post)

We are still making progress, and getting closer to completing the previously announced e-mail migration.

We will use this weblog (blog) post, here, to communicate the status of the migration, as progress is made. Once the migration is complete, we will post that information, here, and rename the title of this post to indicate the migration is complete. The migration IS NOT complete until we have made that announcement, here. Do not make any changes to your e-mail settings until we have announced that the migration is complete.

9/4/2018 1:00 PM – We are performing preliminary tasks in preparation for the migration, later today.

9/4/2018 3:00 PM – We have made the DNS MX record changes so new mail will start to be delivered to the new e-mail server. Now, we have to wait for that change to propagate to the entire Internet. Once it has, we will start to transfer e-mail messages from the old server to the new one. Further updates will follow.

9/4/2018 3:15 PM – We have made the necessary DNS changes to point mail.widomaker.com and webmail.widomaker.com to the new server. This means that e-mail programs like Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird will give an error when trying to check or send e-mail. DO NOT make any changes to your e-mail settings until we have announced that it is time to do so. Further updates will follow.

9/4/2018 3:30 PM – All DNS changes should have completed by now. All new mail should be going to the new server. Existing mail, on the old server, will be transferred to the new server, over the next few hours or days.

9/4/2018 3:45 PM – Enough of the migration is complete that it is now time to update the Username setting in your e-mail software.
